Nominees of EFFSAA elected for higher positions of FIATA

Two nominees of EFFSAA have been elected to lead higher positions of FIATA on the annual general meeting of the federation. The meeting was held virtually on the 18th of November 2021.

Ato Salahadin Khalifa, past President of EFFSAA and Ato Dawit Woubishet, current Vice-President of EFFSAA have become Chairperson of Region Africa and Middle East (RAME) of FIATA and Chairperson of Air Freight Institute (AFI) of FIATA respectively.

Salahadin who served EFFSAA for almost 9 years in various positions and led RAME-FIATA since January 2021, is the Founder and General Manager of Samatra Logistics & Shipping Plc, one of the biggest Logistics company in Ethiopia, which was established in October 1993. He is also the board member of different business organizations.

The other high-profile personality of EFFSAA, Dawit Woubishet, who started serving the Association as a vice chairperson since December 2020, has also been elected to lead the Air Freight Institute of FIATA. Dawit became the first African to get the opportunity to chair AFI. Aside from engaged in different activities of various institutes as a member of board of directors, Dawit is the Director of WoubGet Holdings which includes one of the member company of EFFSAA, Tradepath International Plc.

FIATA, the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (Fรฉdรฉration Internationale des Associations de Transitaires et Assimilรฉs), is a non-governmental, membership-based organization representing freight forwarders in some 150 countries. FIATAโ€™s membership is composed of 109 Association Members and over 5,500 Individual Members, overall representing an industry of 40,000 freight forwarding and logistics firms worldwide.

Founded in 1926 in Vienna, Austria, FIATA is known as ‘the global voice of freight logistics’. FIATA is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland.
