Ethiopian Freight Forwarders and Shipping Agents Association (EFFSAA) and Ethiopian Maritime Authority (EMA) had their official meeting for the first time after former Director General Ato Mekonnen Aberra was replaced by the Yehualashet Jemere (Eng.)
Under the leadership of the former DG, both institutes signed Memorandum of Agreement to collaborate on areas that have mutual interest.
On the meeting which was held on Friday 15th of April 2022, various issues were raised. To mention few, cargo canal software, certificate of competency, information exchange, revision of MoU terms, capacity building etc were focus of the meeting.
A meeting which was chaired by the newly appointed Director General of the Authority, Yehualashet Jemere (Eng.) Yabibal Addis, Deputy DG of the Authority, Yalew Tesfaye, Logistics Cooperation and Monitoring Directorate Director, Tesfaye Chalchisa, Planning Director and Ewnetu Taye Deputy DG of Logistics Transformation Office (LTO) were participants from the Authority. Whereas, Elizabeth Getahun, President of the Association, Sielesh Kassie and Anteneh Alemu members of the Board of Directors, Birtukan Haregewoin and Hanna Tadesse from the secretariat office of the Association were part of the meeting on behalf of EFFSAA.
